This time, I want to write about what I think as a creator of sexual art.
Japanese subculture artists—no, not just artists, but subculture enthusiasts in general—tend to be overly bathed in a certain comforting discourse. This discourse suggests that the unique evolutionary path their cultural sphere has taken inherently grants them an advantage in international competition, or that it represents an inimitable strength.
Consequently, even though an objective analysis of the current situation reveals that this “uniqueness” actually acts like shackles, restricting the culture's freedom, they start getting angry, convinced that someone else is hindering them and preventing their freedom.
This is particularly evident among users of SNS platforms like X, which seem to have usurped the former glory of a once-great platform only to accelerate its decay.
Their behavior often makes one suspect they cannot distinguish between “sexual expression” and “non-sexual expression.”
This inability to distinguish doesn't imply a lack of capability or intelligence. I am not a meritocrat.
It simply means there are those who have pursued expression by fighting and winning for it, and those who haven't. The latter could stay safely within their comfort zone, pecking at scraps, and thus never needed to understand things the former had to grasp just to survive.
Consequently, they conclude, “Since nipples or genitals aren't in the frame, this isn't sexual expression,”
and proceed to display works that, by modern cultural standards, absolutely cannot be considered suitable for unilateral viewing by anyone—without any labels or warnings.
X (formerly Twitter) was far too convenient for this behavior pattern of theirs. Conversely, one could say they were only suited for X (formerly Twitter).
Whether this was fortunate or unfortunate remains unknown, but the hell or heaven-like SNS they uniquely adapted to was indeed the world's largest at the time.
Eventually, even they began to look fed up as the techno-feudal overlords who usurped that SNS and filth like generative AI were unleashed upon the earth. They started seeking shelter elsewhere, but since normal ethical standards apply there,
this type of humanity, only adaptable to an SNS devoid of ethics, faces penalties like account suspensions. and even at that stage, they insist that “those imposing penalties are the ones at fault.”
